HTC have two new phones out available to buy on a pre-order, the high end flagship the HTC U Ultra which is packed with new tech and a sapphire glass screen. This is available in blue or black for £649.

The second offering is the HTC U Play which is a more basic version of the HTC U Ultra, again it comes in black and a rather striking blue colour. The price for this version is £399.

Now the Ultra looks a very sweet phone. Kudos to HTC for putting the work in!

Looks like a decent phone.

Unfortunately the sapphire screen is only going to be fitted to an even higher spec premium version to be released later in the year for an unspecified price, though I will would guess around £750 SIM free.

I do like the fact that HTC continue to innovate, even if their support is a bit thin on the ground at times re updates etc.

My HTC 10 is a great all-round phone that, for me, scores highly in just about any area of performance.

The 24-bit DAC audio processing and dedicated headphone amplifier is unique to phones (as far as i know ) and it genuinely is impressive in making mp3's of all bitrates sound clearer and sharper, but without making them sound artificial. You can even hear the benefits via external BT speakers.

If it had an AMOLED screen, it would be perfect.

The Marshall London has a dedicated Cirrus Logic sound system but unfortunately is otherwise a pretty mid range offering for the £400 price tag, despite the excellent included Marshall earbuds.

Yes - I really think they have missed a trick by not updating it to a higher specification.

The retro Marshall look combined with a decent processor, camera and screen would have tempted me!
