What other Roms are suggested? I haven't changed from Black X for months!
But if I am wondering about this, I would guess others are too.
(Goodluck Jas, and thanx for all the great work.)
TIA,

I ended up on Black X because many believed it was the natural progression from Majik. I think there is a common 'thread' here, no pun intended.
To know where others decided to go will be a good starting point, don't you think? I tried several Roms before Black X but the just didn't have the stable feel that I got from the ones Jas did. I figure that same starting requirement is important to others.
Besides the possibility that no one will be interested in posting, is there a reason I shouldn't ask this here?
Thanx,

There are full versions of roms and lite versions. Again this depends on what you want and what extra programs you will load.

I am curious where others have gone...

Thanks for the post zeddock! I have been wondering the EXACT same thing for about a month or so as well. I have some rom experiance, but very limited compared to the SUPER Flashers on here. And mine is all Black as well, thanks to JJ's great cooking!
I think experianced opinons in this area is VERY valuble, as there are things the more experianced look for in a STABLE rom and know how to find, that others may just miss;).
Thanks for the two good other ROM posts there guys:)! They look very cool! I will be sure to try one soon, and I hope one of these at this point and time will actually have a WORKING VID calling feature included for the HERMES200:D!!
Any more GREAT roms still out there, feel free to post and share!

So, to that end, I have tried the Shamanix Green Grass ( I think that was the name of it ), and several of the Schap's 4.xx variants with the latest being 4.20... I also flashed the vp3g rom based off of the official AT&T rom... While each one boasted stability, features, extra big storage, etc... NONE of them compared (IMHO) to the black roms that I had come to rely upon... not taking anything away from the cookers, their skills far surpass mine (for now
I eventually returned to Black X - RC and that is where I am staying until I perfect a rom of my own cooking (pls don't hold breath) or someone comes along that will continue to cook roms for my Hermes... Custel is back and has created a rom that fared well for a few days, but I keep coming back to black...
So, I guess to answer your question, I would have to ask you a question...? What is it that you are looking for that you want/need to replace your current rom? IF the ole' black rom that you are using it still fast and stable, you don't need to change it, unless of course you suffer from RFWS like me... (rom flashing withdrawal syndrome)
The best roms are always a matter of preference, you may need TomTom, at which case you need a rom that will not change your device id... or you may need cracklinberry (err, blackberry) at which case you will need a rom that support BBConnect v4.x... Whatever the case, you need to evaluate all of your needs and then find a rom that fills those needs, then you can flash away... And don't worry about support on your black rom... There have been plenty of documented fixes for any issues that were present and you can find them all here in this forum...
Hope this puts your mind at ease... Who knows, maybe you'll decide to build your own roms and we'll prefer to flash yours... I for one would like to see someone else step up and do the job that the other great ones have done.... just wish it was me...

Sounds like you been busy LOL. I figured you would be. I wish I had the same time to play myself with roms, but work and some family stuff has not afforded me that pleasure.
I will get back to this thread with what I need/don't need in a rom, but real basic all I would like is the Black X-RC's Vid phone funtion to work:(, other than that it is GREAT and can live with it! And from what I can see the others at a glance offer just easier ways of having some of the neat new apps cooked right in! eg. HTC Home, super bright screen, cube, FTouchFlo, newer camera, some great tools as well! But you and I know that we can put all these things in after the fact, if the best rom going does not have it;)! It just tempts me though as it would save all the seperate installing of all these apps, looks like a lazy way to play Rom Flash & save time lol.
talk soon
