We all know that you can use your phone as a modem in Windows (if not try this: How to Use Your Windows Mobile Phone as a Wireless Internet Modem - Blog)
But what if you are using Linux, specifically Ubuntu and want to connect on the move?
Here's a solution from a colleague at work:
Get connected to the internet
open a terminal
run these commands
sudo apt-get install subversion
svn co http://synce.svn.sou.../usb-rndis-lite
cd usb-rndis-lite/
make
sudo ./clean.sh
sudo make install
---Connect---
Ok you only ever need to install the driver once
All you do now is open Comm Manager on your phone and click on the Internet Sharing
Now make sure USB is selected and choose connect
Now plug your phone into the computer.
If you have no current connection, then the RNDIS will become the active one
If you are already connected in some other way you will have to click on the Network Manager and select it
That's it
Happy Browsing

Cheers for this.
I'll definitely be trying it out. :)
I've read many a guide but never got it to work.
How have you found it?

Not tried it myself on a Ubuntu bx, but my colleague's Ubuntu laptop works perfectly with his Tytn II as modem.
I think you may be able to tweak the bluetooth settings to use it wirelessly, but that would drain the phone battery faster than you could shake your booty (http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2008/06/24/orange_kinetic_phone_charger/)

I used the instructions from this page Access internet via phone using Bluetooth PAN: 'modprobe bnep' has no effect? - Ubuntu Forums to setup using internet sharing via bluetooth.
Work very easily just two quick commands in terminal each time and then very quick wireless internet sharing.

Hi!
I've got an error when I typed in row 2, someone out there who knows what I'm doing wrong?
Error message on the computer:
svn: PROPFIND request failed on '/svn...usb-rndis-lite'
svn: PROPFIND of '/svn...usb-rndis-lite': 302 Found (SourceForge.net Repository - [synce] Index of /)
Peace! / Martin

Marlar, just checking, you are typing the whole URL and not the abbreviated one showing in the post?
Just hover over the link and it should show the whole URL.

i can't get it to work on the eeepc. :(
when entering the first line i get the error
e: couldn't find package subversion
i think it may have something to do with different distros
Anyone any ideas?

I imagine it is the distro you are using for the EEEPC, though correct me if I'm wrong, as I thought that the EEEPC Ubuntu distro that is available is different from the standard Gutsy (or whatever's the latest x86 ? )
