Although I only had it for 24 hours and just 3 or 4 hours of play ... aside from the slight pinching of the top surface against the chrome edging and some concerns that they slide and tilt mechanism was perhaps too tight ... It was superb.
The screen is amazing .... and works in sunlight ... automatically adjusting very effectively.
Missing the radio is a stupid issue ... but to be frank ... having VGA video recording is excellent and for me more important than the radio or still picture quality. The camera quality seems the same as the Nokia E90 was ... stills much better and faster than the TyTNII and video ... well ... as I said .. excellent.
Navigation is still a little odd and at least to start with it feels less smooth (almost like the surface of the screen and the protector when applied was a little sticky) that my TyTNII with MS3.
The touch layer almost feels like it has more movement than the old depressed displays like the TyTNII. This is the first flush display device I've had so not sure if this is normal. If it is 'slacker' this may explain why movement is less fluid than the smaller 'tighter' TyTNII display. Who knows ?
I much prefer MS3 to TF3D. It was my first experience with the latter. I like the weather and stocks components ... would be good to 'merge' them with MS3 ... but the rest isn't great.
I like the way HTC seem to intercept menu items from most apps and present them as easily selected lines.
The back albeit plastic feels tough enough and well lacquered. It doesn't creak ... the TyTNII one did a little in one corner after a while. Guess it could happen after a while. What is good is that the back is easier to remove than the TyTNII one ... which is important given that you need to remove the thing to soft reset ... how daft.
The USB socket has a far better click when the plug is inserted ... feels positive ... and I like the option to use SD as USB disk even if you have no active sync installed.
They have Illium Newsbreak - RSS Hub ... superb product ... shame I have a licence already.
The keyboard is better than the TyTNII and frankly, I struggle to believe the Pro would be as good. I liked the TyTNII and could type fast .... but this is well spaced ... it has a CTRL key ... massive oversight on earlier devices ... Still has the FN and Caps LEDs ... really nice.
I hope I get a replacement soon ... early next week ... and I hope that isn't worse than the one I had already.
Paul.
