thanks hopefully i can see how it really looks like when typing on a portrait mode. Aslo is it possible that when you rotate the phone into landscape mode without using the hardware keyboard will the software keyboard appear or you really need to bring out the hardware keyboard in order to type.

Within TouchFlo the auto rotate is triggered by the keyboard rather than the accelerometer so it rotates whether you have the device upright or lying down if you open the keyboard. If you roatate the device into landscape with the keyboard closed it doesn't do anything if you are in TouchFlo. If however you are in SMS or Email or Opera etc it does rotate and then you do get a software keyboard in landscape. I've just captured some images which I'll post shortly with the day 3 text. Give me an hour or two and it'll be here. :)

This is looking really nice Dave!
One point you mention is the 'screen off' in call feature. This was introduced with the original Diamond and was the bane of my life!
A lot of my calls involve keypresses and the screen off feature seriously interfered with that as it could not be defeated, even with the configuration program. It was only a be ROM that fixed it.
Do you know if this phone has the feature selectable?

Hi Neil, I know about the screen off "issue", but this is different and much better. Rather than turn the screen off while the call is in progress, the Touch Pro 2 detects whether the phone is next to your ear (more likely a combination of inputs from the front camera and the accelerometer but it works) and turns the screen off. If you move the phone away from your ear and the call is still in progress (or not), the screen comes back on again. Likewise, if you used the phone apprentice stylie with it horizontal in front of your mouth (not up to your ear at all) the screen would not go off at all.
So essentially, if you take a call, you put it up to your ear and the screen goes off. The caller at the other end says "oo, do you have Neilm's number" and rather than have to move the ear away and play with the on off button it immediately springs back into life automatically as soon as it moves away from your ear so you can check your contacts and pass on the info. Not until you out it back to your ear does it go dark again. Cool.

Nice update for Day3 Dave... It definitely has that pull... Although I'm dissapointed by the keyboard not being as good as the Touch Pro's...

It's very much a matter of taste I think. Personally I thought the Touch Pro keyboard was much better than the X1 keyboard. There are others here who thought the opposite. I'll bet the guys who preferred the X1 will likely also prefer the Touch Pro 2.

This is quite true, it is a matter of taste, some people have none! ;-)
