It's been a little quiet in here recently (at least from the developer).  Just wondering if he's still reading the forums, and can provide any update on the next version with the new UI he's been talking about (and, hopefully, CSS and EPUB support).

Thanks, Carl.

That's a pity.  No software presently available for Windows Mobile can yet duplicate ubook's features, but others (e.g. ZuleExpress) can do EPUB, and also have "prettier" book browsing features.  And competing platforms, such as Android, have even more full-featured ebook readers available.

Hm I've only found one decent reader on Android - FBReader and I'd not call it fully featured, unless you know of better ones?

So if you were going away from uBook which WM reader would you suggest?

OK - full-featured was probably the wrong word to use, since ubook has annotating, which others don't that I've seen.  I don't currently have Android (but may get it if Verizon Wireless ever gets an Android phone).  But the Aldiko book reader looks nice:  http://www.aldiko.com/index.html

As for Win Mobile, the only one out there which actually supports Epub only supports that format - ZuluReader (http://zuluexpress.com/ZuluMobile.as).  It's okay - I've tried it, and it's good for Epub and looks pretty, but it lacks the features of ubook.

What I'd really like to see is ubook, but with (1) a better cover browser, (2) css support, and (3) epub support.

Carl.

Hmm as I was aware Aldiko only works with books you download, not locally copied versions, which put me off it. Zulu looks way to basic to be considered.

Agreed with 1) and 3) on uBook.

If you look at the June 9 blog entry here (http://www.aldiko.com/blog/), Aldiko seemingly has the ability to read one's own books, at least in epub format.

Well, I just tried installing in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\uBook and still could not get it to see the registration.  Plus when I install it in those folders, it does not allow me to associate the program with any extensions.  I may try the previous version see if it runs any better.  Thanks for the thought.
