Watch the birdie!

3 posts in this topic

We decided to go to Malham Cove for a walk now Jane's surgery is all done and she can walk pretty well again. We hadn't been for a few years because of her back issues.

On approaching the Cove we noticed a few 'twitchers' or 'birders' or whatever they call themselves these days and wondered what they were trying to spot.

Didn't take long to find out - the National Trust have been trying to re-introduce Peregrine Falcons to the area for the last few years and now have a breeding pair.

Weather was grey and overcast but I still managed to get a couple of shots as one of the pair did a few high level circuits. :-)

Not the best due to lighting and distance but not bad considering the circumstances. Even saw the classic W-shaped wing position as it manoeuvred...

You've done well to catch them sharply and clearly there, Tony.

I imagine they don't hang about !!
